How to Fill Cremation Jewelry with Ashes

Having to bear the loss of a loved one really takes a lot out of you. For many people just coming to grips with the fact that they’ve lost someone they held so dear to them is a pain in itself, grieving their loss is another journey. But for some reason, heaving the right kind of memorabilia makes it easier to cope with such a loss. Hence many people choose to buy cremation jewelry to help them get through these tough times.

But we often face questions on how to actually go about filling such cremation jewelry with the ashes of their loved one.

Once you know how to do it, it’s actually pretty simple. Before you fill the cremation jewelry you need to know what the design is like and how it works; whether it’s a top load jewelry urn with a twist off cap, a bottom load jewelry urn closed by a small screw or a back-loaded jewelry urn also closed by a small screw. Next is the process of actually filling the jewelry. For this you  can follow these steps:

·         Place a towel on the workspace to ensure that all urn parts are visible in contrast.

·         Lay a piece of paper on top of the towel and take a small portion of ashes and place them on the paper. Use the spoon to separate large bits of ashes from fine ashes.

·         Locate the screw cap on the jewelry, and open the ash chamber using a small screwdriver.

·         With the plastic spoon, Now scoop a small amount of the fine ashes from the paper and place a tiny funnel into the compartment opening.

·         Next you want to pour a small amount of ashes from the spoon into the funnel. Gently shake the ashes through the funnel. If needed, use the toothpick to gently push ashes through the funnel.

·         Be sure not to fill the chamber to the top. There needs to be room to easily put the screw back without disturbing the ashes.

·         Now close the urn with the screw and you’re done.
